OUR MISSION | STATEMENT OF FAITH | ACCOUNTABILITY | MINISTRY TEAM | STAFF PHOTOS | NETWORKING WITH OTHER MINISTRIES

1. OUR MISSION

SAINTS IN ACTION began in 1993 with a strong vision given to us in Rockford, Illinois. Our vision was one that would reach the hearts of those who were hurting and or forgotten, be it a lost soul or a wounded sheep strayed from the flock. We were never instructed to establish a church, settle in one specific location or to purchase a building. We were instructed to go to the marketplace, to the public or meet in public facilities such as school auditoriums and retreat camps to provide seminars, retreats and conferences free of charge to the hurting and wounded. The Holy Spirit moved mightily and the ministry started to grow.

In 1997, Holy Spirit gave clear instruction to relocate to Arizona. Not knowing any of the cities in Arizona, He made it very clear through dreams to all family members involved that we were to first dwell in Chandler and that we did. We are still a traveling ministry. We go wherever our Lord God sends us to meet the needs of those that have been forgotten, rejected, abandoned, homeless, wounded sheep, who are brokenhearted, lost and hurting. God has called us to go beyond the four walls of the church and share His Gospel with those who may never come to church, those who feel they have no place to turn. This call is throughout the valley, throughout the state, even throughout our churches.
We have been given a Regional Mandate without limitations.  (Click to see area).

Our ministry is one of compassion, helping to reconcile and restore the hurting not only to their families but most importantly to Jesus, our only True Friend our Messiah who never leaves us nor forsakes us. They must know that they can be set free and delivered from any type of bondage. We help them realize how precious they are to Him, how much He loves them and how He has a great future in store for them. We go with a message that gives them hope. We bring the Truth to them knowing that this Truth is life changing and life giving. We not only provide them with spiritual food but we also provide them with material needs they are lacking in.

SAINTS IN ACTION is a ministry made up of great diversity. Not only in nationality but denominationally. We are a team of Born Again Christians - Disciples of Jesus, our Messiah who each attend a different place of worship that are associated with different denominations. We believe that our Lord God’s plan was one of unity no matter which denomination you are a part of. We are to walk and serve together as one. This is what pleases our Heavenly Father. And when we learn to walk in unity and humility, we will truly see the power of our Lord God at it’s fullest. We also believe that we each have been given different gifts and when we work together as one, each gift compliments the others and what our Lord God has set before us is accomplished to bring Him alone, all the glory. When we have ministered in public or in other church settings and are asked for the name of our church, our response is always “We are simply a ministry made up of many parts and we all attend different churches”. Their response is one of amazement that we can flow with such unity. This is because this ministry was birthed, formed, is lead and belongs to our Lord God. This is His ministry. We have a variety of outreaches throughout Arizona. As the Father leads, we prepare to meet the needs of those lacking and/or hurting be it spiritual needs or material needs. We rejoice when we see the body of Christ stepping forward, using their God given gifts and fulfilling the call of our Lord God in their life. If you would like to be a part of a serving ministry, pray about helping with upcoming events.

2. STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that our Lord God, our God and King of the universe is Sovereign, Eternal and The Godhead of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that He is good and He wants above all else to give us life and life abundantly providing divine healing, peace, joy and prosperity.

We believe that Jesus, the everlasting Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal the Father and redeem mankind. We believe that He accomplished our redemption by taking our place through His sacrificial death on the cross as a representative; and that our peace with God is made sure and complete by Jesus’s physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that He ascended into Heaven, was seated on the right hand of Majesty, our Lord God, where He continues serving humanity as our High Priest, Intercessor, and Advocate with the Father.

We believe that because Jesus sacrificed His life providing salvation for mankind, our Lord God freely forgives those who accept this sacrifice and are brought to repentance and faith in His Son. We believe that we are then justified by the grace of God, through faith in His Son, are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and are saved.

We believe that Holy Spirit is a person Who convicts the world of sin and Who baptizes all believers into the body of Christ. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a free gift from our Lord God as promised by Jesus to those who are believers in this distribution and is received after the new birth. It empowers and equips believers for service, anointing them to use the gifts given to them by Him as He sees fit. This powerful experience is also accompanied by the initial evidence of the speaking in other tongues as Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance according to (Matthew 3:11). We believe that the distribution of these gifts only come after we have been born again. He allows us fellowship with Him for He is our Counselor and Comforter. We believe that He, Spirit of Truth, is the One here with us today who teaches us all truth and reveals all future events.

We believe we must follow the instruction found in Matthew 28:19 and Acts 8:36-39 which is a direct commandment of our Lord for believers to be baptized in water. This is a symbol of the Disciple’s identification with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection.. Baptism in water is by immersion.

We believe the Scriptures of the Torah - Old Testament and Good News - New Testament, in their original writing are inspired by our Lord God and accept them as the final authority for faith and life. We believe that through the Scriptures, God has revealed Himself and given us a disclosure of His character and His will.

We believe the Gospel is the good news of deliverance from bondages of the past, present and future. We believe the Gospel includes the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. We believe He continues to minister in order to restore all things. We believe that the declaration of the Gospel makes provision for the present reign of Jesus over all things, or it is inadequate.

We believe that mankind was created in the image and likeness of God, but through Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God; and that man lives in total depravity and is incapable of redeeming himself. We believe that salvation comes only through receiving Jesus, Messiah as Lord and Savior.

We believe the one true and universal Church (Community) which consists of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and filled with Holy Spirit should be the expression of the One they profess to worship and follow, Jesus, Messiah. We believe in the God-appointed ministries of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher, which have been given for the perfecting of the saints according to Ephesians 4:11-13 “Furthermore, He gave some people as emissaries or apostles, some as prophets, some as proclaimers or evangelists of the Good News, and some as shepherds and teachers. Their task is to equip God‘s people for the work of service that builds the body of the Messiah, until we all arrive at the unity implied by trusting and knowing the Son of God, at full manhood, at the standard of maturity set by the Messiah‘s perfection.” We believe in the ultimate triumph of the Church through the power of the Holy Spirit under the government of King Jesus.

3. ACCOUNTABILITY

Moral / Spiritual Accountability
Each one of us will give an account of himself to God. Rom. 14:12

The one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more. Luke 12:48

In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy. I Corinthians 4:2

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. Hebrews 13:17

I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for in the day of judgment. Matthew 12:36

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13

 Ministry Accountability

A pattern that is clear in the New Testament is that Paul was seldom if ever alone in his ministry of planting and overseeing churches. He typically had several people with him, including younger men that he was mentoring for ministry, like Timothy, Titus and others. Thus we believe in oversight teams, not lone, individual overseers.

We believe deeply in accountability and oversight. SIA seeks wise counsel and coaching from various pastors and leaders who have been in ministry for many years.

Aside from receiving counsel and accountability as listed above, SIA also consists of a board with 4 Board of Directors, a Secretary and a Treasurer who checks the records monthly.

These mentoring, coaching and oversight relationships continue today. In addition, SIA is also accountable legally and administratively and reports to The Arizona Corporation Commission on a yearly basis.

 Relational Accountability

We are first accountable to our Heavenly Father, our Partners and Supporters and to our Spiritual Mentors and Leaders.   We believe in relational accountability from outside of our charity/ministry organization.

We have advisory relationships with respected leaders: apostles, prophets, pastors, business men and women and covenant brothers (links and information will be posted on this website as soon as it is received).

 Ministry Governance

We are surrounded by relationships that watch over issues of morality, financial accountability, ministry function and business, doctrine and spiritual concerns, legal council. We hold to a clear vision and moral principle of conducting the ministry with utmost integrity. We see integrity and living beyond reproach as a fundamental value in our ministry.

 Financial Stewardship and Accountability

It is the desire of the President of Saints In Action Ministries and it’s Board of Directors to ensure that the ministry maintains the highest levels of credibility, integrity and accountability.

Be it resolved that the Board of Directors approves the following to be approved and to be followed by the President, Secretary, Ministry Overseers and all others who would in the future become directly connected to and a part of Saints In Action Ministries.

Because Saints In Action Ministries operates on the basis of donations, special contributions, gifts and funding from the general public, the Officers and Directors of the Ministry have set high standards of receiving and distributing the finances intended for the ministry.

The following standards are among the many standards we have in place to ensure accountability, good stewardship and sound management:

1. The ministry guards against engaging in any form of activity that compromises our Christian ethics as it relates to finances.

2. The ministry does not use ministry funds for investment purposes.

3. None of our funding come from government grants. The ministry does not and will not send out monthly letters requesting donations and support but depends entirely upon Holy Spirit speaking to individuals for support.

4. An independent audit performed annually by Mrs. Sandra Walker, Crowley, Texas

 Use of resources

SIA is a non-profit charitable organization who ministers to the hurting and the poor and who is accountable before God and man to use the gifts we receive in the best way possible to help impoverished people and communities as needs are discovered or presented to us. The care we provide for poor and homeless families happens only through the support of individuals. SIA is committed to being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us so that we can serve as many people in need possible while honoring the intentions of those who support our ministry.

More than 80% of total income goes to provide for impoverished families. We work diligently to be resources God has provided. In addition to the independent audit performed annually, we provide a yearly financial report to The Arizona Corporation Commission.

When preaching, teaching or speaking in a public setting, Wilda Ortiz, President or any other participant of Saints In Action Ministries, operate through the offerings received from the people. They do not set a fee or require a contract for any set amount in the offering.

The ministry keeps accurate books and records of all contributions, donations and gifts and provides tax receipts to those who support us with their giving.

We appreciate this opportunity to provide you with the following financial information. It is an honor to be able to show you that we are good stewards with the funds that God has provided to this ministry through you. We continually strive to function with transparency, accountability and excellence.

To review our Commitment to Transparency, you can view our 2006 financial report by clicking here: click here, and our 2007 financial report here, and our 2008 financial report here..

We are excited by the continual growth we are seeing throughout the ministry and none of this would be possible without your partnership and prayers.

4. MINISTRY TEAM

President and Founder, Wilda Ortiz

Pastor Wilda has been married to Luis Ortiz since 1980. At the age of 16, she married her high school sweetheart in Chicago, Illinois. Wilda surrendered her life to Jesus Christ of Nazareth when she was 19 and pregnant with her first child, their daughter, Sonia. It was a day when many were warning of destruction and she new she could not make it without Jesus Christ. She surrendered her life trusting and believing that Jesus Christ would care for her always and He truly has. What first started as a relationship with Jesus based on fear of destruction, quickly turned into a loving and powerful relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. She understood how much He loved her and wanted the best for her. She believed His promise that He would never leave her nor forsake her. He has guarded her heart from much pain and rejection throughout the past 25 years and has healed her body of many sicknesses. She realized who she was in Christ and stepped forward to be all He wanted her to be. She testifies today of His goodness, His faithfulness and the power of His Word. She became a leader at the church she attended almost immediately. She was on board as a leader helping in the planning and decision making of the church as well as cell group leader along side her husband for over 7 years.

In 1990, Holy Spirit told her and her family to relocate to Rockford, Illinois where she continued to be involved in ministry. Holy Spirit began to instruct Wilda to step out into her own ministry. Confirmed by many of the pastors where they were attending, they realized she needed to step out of the boat and do as Holy Spirit was instructing her.  It was then that Apostle Don Lyon, Pastor Donna Lyon, Pastors John and Judy Johnson and Wilda's husband, Luis laid hands on her, anointed her with oil and sent her off to fulfill the call of God in her life.  She went on with their prayers and their blessings.  After the sending, she knew there could be no more delays.  Luis was a great support and still is today.  He plays a very important role in this ministry and without him it could not be possible.  As Wilda's covering along with the covering of our Heavenly Father and the blessings of the pastors, Wilda trusts that God goes before her and prepares the way for the ministry.  As Wilda took the word to hurting women, be it in the church, the street or by conducting conferences, retreats and seminars for the hurting, the ministry grew as willing vessels were added and participated in all forms of outreaches.

In 1997, Holy Spirit made it very clear to all four in the family, each through dreams that they were to relocate to Arizona, for that would be where the ministry would flourish. As hard as it was, they packed their belongings, left all of their family in Illinois and drove to Arizona with their 2 children. They obeyed and the ministry has definitely flourished.

Wilda has lead and organized many Intercessor’s Ministries in various churches, has taught on many subjects, the most being on “The Power Of Forgiveness” for she has had to forgive much in her life and the teaching on the “Spiritual Gifts” along side Luis for many years. Wilda was a youth pastor in Gilbert, Arizona, teaching and challenging the teens in the congregation to walk in the anointing and freedom our Lord God had provided for them along with integrity and purity. She also challenged and encouraged them by giving them great opportunities to use their gifts. She has discipled groups of women at a time. She was also a worship leader. Wilda believes that the mandate and call on her life and this ministry is to carry the Good News to the lost who are hurting and have given up hope and to strengthen and challenge the body of believers with strong encouragement to use the gifts bestowed upon them since the time of conception in their mother’s womb so they could fulfill the call of our Lord God on their life and walk in that fullness. For until this is accomplished, there is no satisfaction in ones life.

The staff at SAINTS IN ACTION MINISTRIES consists of special individuals who know they have been called to fulfill our Lord God’s command in Matthew 25:31-46. They are vessels who are humble, transparent, compassionate and who have surrendered themselves to be used as our Lord God desires - through their service, their giving, their lips, their touch and their heart. Our Lord God adds to our staff every year, for the calling on our ministry is great and willing vessels are needed to reach the many hurting families that surround us - from the homeless to the wounded and wandering sheep. Everyone involved in our ministry is extremely special to us. We appreciate everyone of them. They each flow in the gifts given to them by our Lord God for this is what pleases Him. There is much work to be done and everyone who uses their gifts, talents and abilities are not only being obedient and faithful with their God given gifts but they also compliment all the other individuals who work with them. This is called unity. When there is unity and humility, we find ourselves going about doing our Father’s business and Holy Spirit can flow freely leaving no room for hindrances. This is what pleases our Heavenly Father. If you know you are called to minister to the hurting, rejected, abandoned or abused and Holy Spirit has spoken to you about our ministry, please contact us at wildsortiz3@gmail.com or call Wilda Ortiz at 480-. We will pray with you and seek the will of our Heavenly Father.
